Belize's The Cayes and Atolls
Ambergris Caye
The largest of the some 400 cayes that speckle Belize’s Caribbean Sea, Ambergris Caye is also the most notorious. A long narrow island of palm fringed beaches and warm beaches, Ambergris Caye is a glorious destination in which to relax and soak up the beautiful Central American sun. Near the southern tip find the lively town of San Pedro, where colorful streets are lined with resorts, boutiques, businesses and charming homes. It is here where Ambergris’ finest attraction is accessed…its barrier reef.
Sit on the docks and listen to the low bass roar of the surf breaking over the reef, or venture deep below and explore the vibrant wonderland that thrives in the warm conditions of the Belize’s turquoise blue. An island comprised of a relaxed atmosphere, sandy streets and a bahian charm all its own, Ambergris Caye is a destination sure not to disappoint.
