Today, enjoy a walking tour of Quito. Get in touch with the local culture and history as you admire amazing Spanish-era architecture and churches as we walk down the narrow cobblestone streets of the old town.
Today, you will head outside the city towards Cotopaxi Volcano, where you will have a full day exploration. Lunch will be at a local hacienda.
You will have an opportunity to take short hikes and learn about the flora and fauna of the Paramo. Also, depending on the weather conditions, visit to the “refuge”. After, you will be transferred to the hacienda.
You will enjoy this truly authentic experience set amongst the stunning and spectacular Andean mountains. Not only is it a great opportunity to find some beautiful local crafts and taste the local cuisine, but also a chance to see and experience the culture traditions of the indigenous communities of this area of Ecuador.
After your visits, you will head to Riobamba.
Today, you will head to the small town of Rio Verde, where you will begin your full day Devil’s Caldron Canyon & Waterfall Hike.
Situated in the western foothills of the Ecuadorian Andes, the Pailon del Diablo rewards hikers with an intimate glimpse of one of the most powerful forces of nature, water. The Pailon del Diablo, or Devil’s Cauldron, is an aptly-named waterfall on the Rio Pastaza, a tributary of the upper Amazon River Basin.
Today, you will be transferred to the local train station to begin your trip to “The Devil’s Nose”, which is one of the most famous rail journeys in the world.
During your journey, among the many sites that can be enjoyed include cultivated Andean highlands, contrasting with a rough and rugged landscape in the wilderness. This unique location is adorned by several high altitude volcanoes, many of which are still active, and stand out of their snowcaps. A number of small villages are nestled in the mountains, allowing visitors to enjoy a spectacular view of the splendid scenery.
After, you will be transferred to your hotel in Cuenca.

Cajas is a national park located on the northwestern side of the city of Cuenca, consisting of wetlands of glacial origin with more than 200 lakes and lagoons.
At Llaviuco, we spend 45 minutes to one hour walking around the lake looking for birds and enjoying the scenery. The trail is mostly flat and easy. At Toreadora Lake, we first visit the Interpretation Center and then start a 1 or 2 hour hike, depending on your physical condition, around the lake or down the Polylepis forest.
You will be transferred to the airport for your flight out of Ecuador.
