Discover a remarkable world hidden in thick rainforest canopy, then relax in natural hot springs.
Experience Costa Rica’s rich diversity and lush habitat while crossing 15 impressive bridges in a protected tropical rainforest. Some of them suspended over the forest, and others stationary, the bridges allow access to the flora and fauna from different perspectives as you go through the different levels of the forest. You will have great views from the forest´s canopy making it easier to spot birds and animals. Animals that inhabit this type of forest include three species of monkeys, multiple species of birds, serpents, wild boars, frogs, and others.
Enjoy lunch and a relaxing soak in the Eco Termales Hot Springs. These thermal pools are the life work of the Hidalgo family and offer a more private visit than some of the other springs in the area.
Walk a trail of sloths, zipline through the forest and witness nocturnal fauna in action.
You could say that the sloths are one of our emblematic animals of the fauna of Costa Rica . These small and gracious friends are particularly beautiful, owners of a tenderness with an eternal smile that makes it seem that he is always happy. Enjoy a short hike through the secondary forest on a special pathway where it is very common to spot these little green mammals, even if they try to blend in with the flora. Our expert guides know their secrets, so they do not hide for a long time. In addition, you will enjoy many fabulous plants that will teach you curious facts about the region. Because of its location and type of flora, this trail is very diverse in birds, so as to complement a morning full of wildlife.
Soar high in the forest canopy, engaging with the rainforest in a truly unique way. The Ecoglide Canopy tour consists of 11 cables, 13 platforms and the option of riding the notoriously fun Tarzan Swing, which sends harnessed riders soaring out into a forest clearing! Before, during and after, wonderful views of the forest, volcano, and hillsides can be enjoyed.
Head back out this evening to discover some of the country’s nocturnal wonders in a night hike. Follow a trail that takes you around mirrored lakes to the frog sanctuary, which is an area dedicated to the regeneration and natural reproduction of frog species. Here you will discover a large amount of species such as the dart frog and the bull frog, the smallest and largest species in Costa Rica , as well as the spectacular Red Eyed Tree Frog, and the beautiful Glass Frog. After the tour, a delicious Costa Rican dinner prepared on a wood burning stove awaits. Enjoy dinner viewing the lights of the valleys of San Carlos.
Head south and travel along the central Pacific coast to Manuel Antonio.
Explore the abundant wildlife, white-sand beaches, and tranquil waters of Manuel Antonio National Park.
Though the highlights of this park are its 2 white sand beaches, Espadilla Sur and Manuel Antonio, it also protects coastal rainforest, a mangrove swamp, coral formations and 12 islands that serve as seabird sanctuaries. Take a hike with your naturalist guide through this exotic, bio-diverse tropical rainforest. Watch sloths and numerous species of monkeys travel through the tree canopy, hunt for nocturnal silky anteaters and several types of monkeys or iguanas resting in the tropical rainforest, and listen to the songs of the various birds as they glide above your group, curiously looking for adventure. If you are lucky, you might spot one of the only 1,000 remaining endangered Mono Titi or squirrel monkeys, who live in only one location in the world – the Manuel Antonio National Park biological corridor.
Explore the wonders of the mangrove ecosystem on a kayaking tour to Damas Island.
You will set out on a river called Paquita, facing an island, and kayak along the soft currents under a verdant forest canopy. Make sure to keep your eyes peeled so you can spot the innumerable aviary species, snakes, anteaters and white-faced (capuchin) monkeys. Kayaking through the natural channels provides an ideal opportunity to observe heron species, kingfishers, ospreys, frigates, and other migratory birds. As you journey through the brackish waters, you can catch glimpses of the island as you pass beneath tunnels made naturally from tree growths.
