Enjoy a half day exploration in the Sacred Valley during your Chinchero and Moray biking adventure.
You will be picked up from your hotel to be transferred to the village of Chinchero where the ride starts. The fun bike tour through the fascinating landscape of the valley while enjoying lovely views of impressive Andean peaks, cactus plants and Andean villagers performing their daily activities. After, you will go through the Inca experimental agricultural terraces of Moray. A boxed lunch will be provided. Finally, you will return to your hotel.
This evening, your guide will brief you on the Inca Trail trek to Machu Picchu program.
With your Inca Trail trek guide, commence the Inca Trail trek to Machu Picchu. The Inca trail is the most famous trek in South America, but what makes it unique is that it is the only trek in the world that takes you to a major archaeological site, which is Machu Picchu, allowing you to visit three major sets of Inca ruins reachable on foot. In addition to this, the landscape is breathtaking, as you pass from cloud forest to puna grasslands across major passes and back to cloud forest as you reach the mythical citadel of Machu Picchu.
After visiting Machu Picchu, you will take the shuttle bus to Aguas Calientes for lunch. Your guide will then show you to your hotel.
Return to Machu Picchu to visit Huayna Picchu, and then take some time to explore on your own.
After lunch, you will be escorted back to the Aguas Calientes train station for your return train journey to Ollantaytambo aboard the PeruRail Vistadome train. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to Cusco.
This morning join your guide for a walking tour of Historical Cusco and a hike to Sacsayhuaman Fortress.
Our visit will consist of a journey through centuries to know the history of Cusco, the capital of the Incas, considered the “navel of the world”. The tour begins at the main square called Aucaypata Square, which will be followed by a visit to Regocijo Square also called Cusipata Square.
We continue our journey towards the Francisco Square to appreciate its church. Afterwards we will visit the church and convent of Santa Catalina which were built on top of the “Acllahuasi.” The tour continues to the Stone of 12 Angles; a stone embedded in an Incan wall that was carved so that it has 12 angles that fit perfectly with the surrounding rocks. Finally, we end the tour discovering San Blas; a bohemian neighborhood where many artists and craftsmen live, and where we can enjoy panoramic views of the city of Cusco.
After, you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Lima. Upon arrival, you will connect with your departure flight from Peru.
