CONTACT US ABOUT THIS TRIPWelcome to Peru! On arrival, you will connect to your flight to Cusco. Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to the hotel. You will have time to relax and acclimate to the altitude before your tour.
Later this afternoon, join your guide for a walking tour of Cusco. Our visit will consist on a journey through centuries to know the history of Cusco, the capital of the Incas, considered the “navel of the world”.
Today, you will be transferred to Tica Tica Arc, where you will begin your biking adventure to Piuray Lake. Start biking downhill and then experience traversing beautiful woods until reaching some of the local Andean villages, where you will get a glance into the daily lives of the indigenous people. Continue your ride through the Andes as you admire spectacular views of the landscapes around the old Inca capital. The ride continues until you reach Piuray Lake. Here you will enjoy a picnic lunch by the lake.
Afterwards, you can enjoy a kayaking or paddle board experience on the lake before returning to Cusco.
This evening, you will be briefed on your upcoming Salkantay Trek.
This trekking experience will take you on a historic section of Inca trail through 15 different eco-systems.
You will traverse a mountain pass over 15,000 feet, explore villages where locals still maintain age-old traditions and re-discover the mystical beauty of Machu Picchu, the crown jewel of the Inca Empire.
During the first five nights of your trek, you will stay in cozy lodges. All our guest rooms are stocked with down comforters and amenities. The eco-minded architecture effortlessly mixes traditional heritage with contemporary design.
Your 7 day trek includes
At dawn, you begin your journey to Machu Picchu with a short and rollicking uphill bus ride. Prepare to be awed by the imposing and skillful architecture of the Watchtower, the Temple of the Sun, and the royal Inca residences, among many others.
Your imagination will soar as you contemplate the history of Machu Picchu and its mysterious origins. Some may even choose a hike to Huayna Picchu, the iconic towering mountain often seen in photographs. (Huayna Picchu Mountain permits are subject to availability at time of reserving this trek). Enjoy lunch before being assisted to the train station for your trip to Cusco aboard the Vistadome Train. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel.
Today, you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Lima. Upon arrival, you will connect with your departure flight from Peru.
