Your romance journey begins with a stay in beautiful Rio de Janeiro.
Situated atop a mountain, at a height of 2,329 feet above sea level, is the statue of Christ the Redeemer, one of the world’s best-known and most-visited monuments and now considered to be one of the seven wonders of the world. Following a scenic drive along the Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon, you arrive at the foot of the hill from where you will embark on a small train. Upon reaching the top, experience a panoramic view of Rio de Janeiro and discover why it is known as the “Marvelous City!”
The charming district of Santa Teresa is one of the most original of the city due to its unique hillside geography, history, and the alternative urban lifestyle it offers. This picturesque neighborhood that began as the site of a Carmelite convent (still here) in the 18th Century is home today to some of Brazil‘s most vibrant artists – many of whom open their home studios to the public. Rio’s elegance and colorful artistic side are expressed in Santa Teresa’s lush flowers; large, elegant old houses; winding streets and breathtaking views.
Brazil and its cuisine are a wild and sometimes baffling stew of influences and cultures. Start the day with a visit to the street market where you have good opportunities to see and experience the day by day of the locals and get to sample some local favorite snacks and fruits. Our walk dives right into that mix by taking you through the vibrant heart of Rio’s two most historically and architecturally significant neighborhoods: downtown’s Centro and Porto areas.
In downtown, you will have the opportunity to see the influence from the French architecture. With Rio’s history and modern rise as a backdrop, our walk works its way through the traditional eateries and bars of this district, catching some little-known cultural treasures along the way. You can sample the culinary offerings of the city’s largest open-air market, which Jewish, Syrian and Chinese merchants have all called home. Stop at iconic botequims – lively, old-fashioned watering holes where locals take their lunch – for classic Rio bar food and a taste of cachaça, the sugar cane spirit that is Brazil’s national drink.
Sugar Loaf is an iconic symbol of the city of Rio de Janeiro. Rising from a small peninsula at the entrance of Guanabara Bay, its name is said to refer to its resemblance to the traditional shape of concentrated refined sugar loaf. The tour at Sugar Loaf Mountain is done in two steps by glass cable cars.
The 1st cable car takes you to the top of Urca Hill, which rises 710 feet above sea level and offers spectacular views of the entire bay and its islands. You continue in a second cable car to the top of Sugar Loaf Mountain, which rises 1,300 feet above sea level and offers a 360-degree view of the entire city. It is here where you will watch the sunset paint the sky and the city with a gorgeous glow.

The most beloved archipelago in Brazil is formed by several islands and islets of volcanic origin. The largest of them – and the only one open to tourism – has the same name as the archipelago, Fernando de Noronha. A scenery of rare beauty, Noronha has some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, exuberant nature and a historical past that is intertwined with the history of the country itself. Natural Heritage of Humanity, the richness of the fauna and flora of Noronha is preserved by the performance of the National Marine Park and by several other projects, maintained by an Environmental Preservation Fee payment of which is mandatory for all visitors.
Head out and experience an exciting navigation on ancient vessels of the Polynesian Triangle. The expedition’s proposal is adventure and contemplation in the paradisiacal setting of Fernando de Noronha Island. The 4 km route passes through Air France, Rugido do Leão, Praia do Cachorro, Praia do Meio and Conceição, with a stop for swimming. Live this experience and hope the dolphins surprise you as you paddle in beautiful waters on a Hawaiian canoe.
Enjoy an intimate experience, visiting the famous beaches and area landmarks on the way. Climb into a rugged 4×4 vehicle with your guide and start your adventure.
Begin at Projeto Tamar, meet with a biologist on site for an introduction to the area’s biodiversity. Explore Sancho Bay, consistently voted one of Brazil’s best beaches because of its white sand and clean, calm, waters.
Continue to Porto’s Beach, home to Rachel’s Hole and the Sharks Museum. Learn about the history of the local fishermen at St. Peter’s Chapel, which also offers beautiful views of the island. In the Southeast Bay, go snorkeling in waters frequented by sea turtles and other sea wildlife.
Visit additional beaches such as the Mirante da Praia do Leao, Cacimba do Padre (with views of Morro Dois Irmaos) and the Bay of Pigs. Finish up with a sunset viewing at Mirador do Boldra before heading back to your hotel. A picnic lunch is included during the tour.
With dramatic rocky backdrops and sparkling turquoise sea, it is hard to imagine a better place to watch a sunset than Fernando de Noronha.
Head out on a private boat to experience the beautiful scenery as your captain sails around Fernando de Noronha Marine National Park. The boat will anchor at the perfect spot to enjoy the sky that becomes a painted canvas as the sun sets with its different shades of oranges and pinks.
Once the sun sets, it becomes the perfect spot for stargazing as well. Enjoy a delicious dinner onboard before sailing back to your hotel.
