Your wildlife and nature adventure begins with a stay in bustling Sao Paulo.
Enjoy a cultural tour around the city and get an overview of all this vibrant Brazilian city has to offer. Considered Brazil’s ‘late bloomer’, what São Paulo lacks in colonial history, it more than makes up for with its modern architecture and emerging art and foodie scene. You will make stops at Pacaembu Stadium, Sé Cathedral, Central Square, Teatro Municipal De Sao Paulo, Estacao da Luz Train station, and Municipal Market of Sao Paulo, where you can see firsthand how the locals live. The tour will allow you to discover the intriguing history and heritage of this beautiful city.
While travelling through the area, it is possible to spot some of the rich flora and fauna of the region such as capybaras, blue macaws, giant anteater, anaconda and hundreds of species of birds. Pantanal is the largest floodplain of the planet, and UNESCO declares the place as World Heritage and Biosphere Reserve, the true wildlife sanctuary of South America. Located at the center of the continent, with an area of approximately 150.000 km², Pantanal consists of a transition area, containing elements of Cerrado, the Amazon and Atlantic forests, of Paraguayan Chaco and Caatinga. Such fantastic biodiversity includes approximately 698 species of birds, 80 species of mammals, 26 of fish and 50 of reptiles.
Your adventure program includes scheduled excursions which consist of land safaris, horseback riding, river canoeing, wildlife spotting expeditions, sunset & sunrise hikes, and other fun activities.
The Jaguar Suites are uniquely set floating just off the riverbank of the incredible Piquirí River deep within the Pantanal. The focus during your stay will be on spotting the elusive jaguar. Your days will be filled with expert led nature walks and boat tours. Each day you will set out in the morning and afternoon, in a boat with your guide, heading along the Cuiaba, Three Brothers and Piquiri Rivers as well as their tributaries. This is the best opportunity to spot Jaguars and also giant otters and a variety of bird species and reptiles.
