CONTACT US ABOUT THIS TRIPOn arrival, connect to Calama, gateway to the Atacama Desert, and start your Signature Luxury Journey.
Explora Atacama offers over 40 different explorations, on foot, horseback or by bicycle: a couple of hours to a full day, gentle or more physically demanding. The series of explorations including treks, horseback rides, cycling explorations, high-mountain climbs and stargazing sessions will enable you to discover the ancient culture of Atacama, its singular wildlife, and get to know in-depth the natural landscapes of this vast terrain: from the brown of the Andean Mountains and volcanos, to the white of the salt flats and the green of the oases. More extensive explorations include open-air picnics.
San Pedro de Atacama is located at an altitude of 8,202 feet above sea level. The explorations, planned to enable your body to gradually become accustomed to the altitude, can take you to heights of between 13,123 feet and 14,764 feet above sea level and if you wish, even further on the high mountain climbs.
Viña VIK Chile offers a selection of guided explorations, including tours of the winery and vineyard, wine tasting led by experienced concierges, horseback rides, mountain biking, hiking and running experience. There is also a game room, fitness center, sauna and relaxation areas, and special amenities made with grape seeds.
Enjoy VIK wine and cheese sampling, cooking classes, and other immersive experiences during your stay at Viña Vik. The hotel location lends itself to panoramic views of the surrounding vineyards and Andes mountains. Tour the Colchagua Valley’s other beautiful wineries to learn about field oenology – “The Science of the Vine”. Whatever you decide to engage in during your visit to Viña VIK, it will surely be an amazing experience.
Anchored like a ship by Lake Pehoé, at the heart of Torres del Paine National Park, Explora Patagonia has a privileged location from where to go out and explore the park. With an exclusive location and unparalleled views, you can choose either hiking or horseback riding to some of the circuits of the renowned W and other less explored routes that will help you get familiarized with the typical geography and wildlife of Patagonia.
The Patagonian Andes are the southernmost section of the Andes mountain range that runs the length of South America. The insurgences of rocky blocks occurred 12 million years ago and were exposed on the deep rocky surfaces formed 300 million years ago.
In Patagonia, the mountains are interrupted by numerous valleys, lakes, fjords, and canals of tectonic and glacial origins. Part of the Andean relief is occupied by gigantic masses of ice, such as the southern ice fields, one of the largest reserves of freshwater in the world, containing around fifty glaciers. To the south, the continent ends in the Strait of Magellan, which links the Pacific and Atlantic oceans. To the other side of the strait lies Tierra del Fuego, the largest island on the American continent.
Fly to Santiago, enjoy the city’s evening atmosphere on your own.
Discover Chile’s capital brimming with history and culture, considered one of South America’s most modern metropolitan areas. Drive around Santa Lucia Hill, where Santiago was founded. Head to the San Francisco church (built in 1586), the second oldest church in Chile. Visit the Paris-Londres neighborhood with its cobble stone streets and renovated mansions, reminiscent of the Latin Quarter in Paris, France. Make stops at the Presidential Palace, La Moneda, La Bolsa, Plaza de Armas, and Metropolitan Cathedral.
Explore Mercado Central, a historic landmark designed by Gustave Eiffel (best known for the Eiffel Tower in Paris). The market is famed for delicious seafood and other traditional Chilean dishes. Take a funicular to the top of San Cristobal Hill where there is a great 360-degree panoramic view of Santiago and where you can see the famous statue of the Virgin Mary. End your exploration with a visit to the bohemian Lastarria neighborhood, lined with cafés, restaurants, small theaters, bookstores, and boutique shops.
A late check-out has been arranged so you can relax and freshen up before your departure from Chile.
