CONTACT US ABOUT THIS TRIPYour Exceptional Luxury Journey begins with a stay in Santiago.
Discover Chile’s capitol brimming with history and culture, considered one of South America’s most modern metropolitan areas. Drive around Santa Lucia Hill, where Santiago was founded. Head to the San Francisco church (built in 1586), the second oldest church in Chile. Visit the Paris-Londres neighborhood with its cobble stone streets and renovated mansions, reminiscent of the Latin Quarter in Paris, France. Make stops at the Presidential Palace, La Moneda, La Bolsa, Plaza de Armas, and Metropolitan Cathedral.
Explore Mercado Central, a historic landmark designed by Gustave Eiffel (best known for the Eiffel Tower in Paris). The market is famed for delicious seafood and other traditional Chilean dishes. Take a funicular to the top of San Cristobal Hill where there is a great 360-degree panoramic view of Santiago and where you can see the famous statue of the Virgin Mary. End your exploration with a visit to the bohemian Lastarria neighborhood, lined with cafés, restaurants, small theaters, bookstores, and boutique shops.
This evening, indulge in gourmet dinner paired with Chilean wine at the private home of a food enthusiast, cook and art lover.
Walk-through Valparaiso’s cobbled streets. Visit the Plaza de la Victoria, with its lovely Neptune Fountain and Turri Clocktower. Admire the rainbow of colorful buildings that cover the hillsides.
Join the curator at the residence-turned-museum of Nobel Price-winning poet, Pablo Neruda. Get to know the stories and get a glimpse into the life of one of Chile’s most influential citizens. Although Neruda’s literary work became well established, he then dedicated most of his life to writing prodigiously, rising in the ranks of 20th century poets. (The collection of his complete works, which is continually being republished, filled 459 pages in 1951; by 1968 it amounted to 3,237 pages, in two volumes.) He also received numerous prestigious awards, including the International Peace Prize in 1950, the Lenin Peace Prize and the Stalin Peace Prize in 1953, and the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1971.
Enjoy an artistic experience of Valparaiso’s graffiti culture alongside a local muralist painter. Visit the artist’s atelier where you will meet the painter, learn about the history of the local art culture, then head off to see some of the artist’s work.
Fly to Easter Island and begin your Explora Rapa Nui island cultural program.
Explora Rapa Nui is located on a tranquil spot from which the island’s mysteries and dramatic isolation are in full view. Its award-winning architecture blends Easter Island’s unique geography and heritage, with its vibrant present. At 3,700 km off the South American continent and surrounded by the clearest, deepest waters on the planet, Rapa Nui has been the cradle of a unique and enigmatic culture that continues to endure today. The island’s language, music, and numerous traditions are kept alive by the island’s inhabitants, while the enormous carved stone Moai are testimony to their mysterious past.
On foot, bicycle, or boat, our over 20 explorations unveil Easter Island’s unique history and charm. A private guide is included to enhance your experience. Explora Rapa Nui mixes local guides, local understanding, and explorations to discover the mysteries and unique charm of Easter Island, the world’s most isolated island. The hikes, bicycle rides and ocean explorations are the quintessential way to explore and discover the landscapes, history, and culture of this unique territory. All excursions have strong cultural and archaeological overtones.
Travel back to Santiago.
Fly north to Calama and head to San Pedro de Atacama to begin your desert exploration.
San Pedro de Atacama is located at an altitude of 8,202 feet above sea level. The explorations, planned to enable your body to gradually become accustomed to the altitude, can take you to heights of between 13,123 and 14,764 feet above sea level and if you wish, even further via high-mountain climbs.
Explora Atacama offers over 40 different explorations, on foot, horseback or by bicycle: a couple of hours to a full day, gentle or more physically demanding. A private guide is included to enhance your experience.
The series of explorations including treks, horseback rides, cycling explorations, high-mountain climbs and stargazing sessions will enable you to discover the ancient culture of Atacama, its singular wildlife, and get to know in-depth the natural landscapes of this vast terrain: from the brown of the Andean Mountains and volcanos, to the white of the salt flats and the green of the oases. More extensive explorations include open-air picnics.
Fly to Santiago, travel to Chile’s wine region for an exceptional wine and culinary experience.
Alexandra Marnier Lapostolle, great-granddaughter of the creator of Grand Marnier, is the force behind Viña Lapostolle, with a winery and hotel nestled in the hills overlooking Chile’s spectacular Apalta Vineyards in the Colchagua Valley. This unique setting, combining a respect for nature with cutting-edge design, invites you to experience Lapostolle. A team of chefs prepares a special menu for each wine, using organic vegetables from the garden and top-quality seasonal products. Biking through the vineyards and trekking the trails of the native forests are a good complement to the activities linked to wine, beginning with a tour and private tasting in the winery.
Spend the day enjoying an immersive culinary and wine experience at the residence or wander off to sample some of the other wines of the region.
There are many wineries in the region. Tours are especially designed for those who are both beginning their journey in the world of wine, as well as for those who are fanatics. By visiting the Clos Apalta winery and those surrounding it, you will discover the secrets of the Colchagua Valley, which gives birth to the best nectars of Chile.
Exploring nature is another possibility: in this vast 650+ hectare estate, you can explore the organic and biodynamic vineyards via horseback, mountain biking, or hiking the wild wooded Apalta slopes. Finally, the city of Santa Cruz offers the opportunity to visit many typical craft shops and the Colchagua Museum.
A late check-out has been arranged so you can enjoy additional activities at the hotel or relax before your departure flight from Chile.
