Explore Recoleta on foot and go off the beaten path. You will be introduced to the history, architecture, traditions, and unique features of this historic Buenos Aires neighborhood. Visit Recoleta Cemetery and hear fascinating tales about Evita Perón, the misfortune of Rufina Cambaceres, Tiburcia Dominquez’s miserly husband, and Admiral Brown. Stop by Pilar Basilica to admire its stunning architecture, then learn about the history of Recoleta Cemetery itself at the Recoleta Cultural Center and Old Monastery.
Visit El Ateneo which is as splendid as its name and exudes Buenos Aires’s nostalgic elegance. See Bourdelle’s Monument to Alvear, then continue to the Palais de Glace, where the Argentine tango came of age. Learn about the history of tango before visiting the BA Design Center and Terraces, the National Library, and the National Fine Arts Museum.
San Telmo has the most classic, old school vibe in Buenos Aires. Cobblestone streets, old lanterns, hundred year old buildings match what is generally offered and what many people expect to see in Buenos Aires.
Teatro Colon is one of the most important opera houses in the world, due to its acoustic excellence and its high architectural value. During your visit, you will get a better understanding of the history and traditions of Teatro Colon, including a very special meet & greet with Teatro Maestro Enrique Diemecke, who will give you more insight on both the theater and some of the special performances he has conducted during his tenure at Teatro Colon.
Head off the beaten path to the neighborhood of Caballito for a unique walking tour that explores the hidden gems of Buenos Aires that you will not find in guidebooks. This tour includes uncommonly visited city landmarks that deviate from the typical tourist locations. If you would like some insight into local life or would like to learn about the local food and see what the locals do, come explore this authentic local cultural experience in a non-touristy barrio. In Caballito, learn about immigration, gauchos, tango, and the historical and architectural evolution of the neighborhood. You’ll travel back in time to the 19th and early 20th century to discover amazing places such as: a historic market built in 1889; an incredible old-fashioned barber shop that is also a living museum; a pulperia or gauchos’ bar; a truly impressive 19th century tea/coffee house; a legendary tango salon that was once used as a grain silo; and one of the most beautiful churches in the city where Pope Francis was baptized.
Argentina is an unlimited source of creativity and talent. The intense artistic activity constantly developing in Buenos Aires underlines its position as Latin America’s cultural Capitol City. The uniqueness of this experience lies in the privilege of breathing in the intimate atmosphere of the artist and his/her work. This will enable you to fulfill a deeper perception of the works of art through a face-to-face interaction with their creators.
This evening, head out on a unique ride through the city in an antique car. You will get a different view of Buenos Aires as you drive by some of the most iconic sites, including Casa Rosada, Teatro Colon, Obelisko, and see them fully illuminated. Your ride comes to an end as you arrive at a private venue, where you will enjoy a private tango performance and lesson. After, enjoy a gourmet dinner on your own before heading back to the hotel.
Chef Norma Soued is a delightfully pleasant Argentine psychotherapist who sees cooking as an inexpensive (and more enjoyable!) version of therapy, giving one the possibility to explore their creativity and thus be connected to the roots of the culture. Norma deeply believes that food is a very good way to learn about the culture, traditions, and customs of the locals, and what can be better than a cooking class? So, strap on that apron and learn how to make those little pockets of heaven – empanadas, and other traditional Argentine specialties! While cooking and enjoying every step of it using your five senses, you will enter a state of joy and “flow” and forget about yourself and all your preoccupations. At her home in Belgrano, you are welcomed with open arms and will appreciate cooking in an authentic porteño kitchen, enjoying your meal with a glass of wine and reveling in your culinary talent, which is an experience that you can take home with you.
The Tipiliuke property covers almost 50,000 acres at the foot of the Andes Mountain range where guests enjoy tailor made activities, authentic refined cuisine and knowledgeable personalized service.
The helicopter will be waiting for you just 300 meters from the main lodge. We take off heading east and gain height along the Chimehuin river. The highlights include seeing the Tipiliuke Mountain from the air as well as the Lanín Volcano; the main river; the spring creek; the old homestead of the Larminat family, Miguel Larminat’s house (one of the actual owners of the estancia); the river house and neighboring land. Fly between 1,000 and 1,300 meters above sea level and over the confluence of the Chimehuin and Collón Cura Rivers.
Spend the day enjoying some of the included activities at the lodge; wine tasting, cooking classes, tango lessons, horseback riding, birding, rafting, hiking, mountain biking and fly fishing. Activities are available for all levels of experience. Tipiliuke is considered by many to be one of the world’s top fly-fishing destinations.
Drive along the base of the Andes, past rivers, lakes, panoramic overlooks, and stunning vistas. There will be a stop made where you will enjoy a gourmet picnic by the lakeshore. Continue to your hotel in Villa La Angostura.
This is a unique journey discovering the impressive Lake Nahuel Huapi and the best of Bariloche, Villa la Angostura and North Patagonia. Enjoy an exclusive and private navigation to Isla Victoria and try soft and easy hikes at the island. Arrive at Bariloche and delight in typical brewery dishes and savor craft beers at Patagonia Microbrewery, with amazing views of Moreno Lake. Later, enjoy an amazing sightseeing tour around Circuito Chico and reach the top of Campanario Hill with the best views of the area. In the afternoon, return by navigation to Las Balsas, with a complete chocolate tasting on board.
