Day 2: BUENOS AIRES

Immerse yourself in the Argentine culture

Explore Recoleta on foot and go off the beaten path. You will be introduced to the history, architecture, traditions, and unique features of this historic Buenos Aires neighborhood. Visit Recoleta Cemetery and hear fascinating tales about Evita Perón, the misfortune of Rufina Cambaceres, Tiburcia Dominquez’s miserly husband, and Admiral Brown. Stop by Pilar Basilica to admire its stunning architecture, then learn about the history of Recoleta Cemetery itself at the Recoleta Cultural Center and Old Monastery. Visit El Ateneo which is as splendid as its name and exudes Buenos Aires’s nostalgic elegance. See Bourdelle’s Monument to Alvear, then continue to the Palais de Glace, where the Argentine tango came of age. Learn about the history of tango before visiting the BA Design Center and Terraces, the National Library, and the National Fine Arts Museum.

Later, learn to tango with a private lesson! When you are in Buenos Aires, do not miss the chance to learn the Argentine Tango! In just 90 minutes, you will get a feel for the music and popular dance, developed in the barrios of Buenos Aires, as you listen to its rhythms and learn the basic steps. Where better to perfect the passionate dance moves than in the city that made tango world famous?

The fun continues with a parrilla tour and milonga night!  Parrillas are Argentine restaurants offering the most traditional cuisine. Most visitors to Buenos Aires only dine at the most touristy parrillas published in guidebooks and sadly miss out on some of the city’s most delicious gems. Experience and taste authentic Porteño flavors as you discover hole-in-the wall restaurants where the locals go. Enjoy an authentic cultural experience at a local club where social dancers take time off and dance the most authentic form of Tango (also called Milonga), away from the spotlights of the commercial circuit.

Day 3: BUENOS AIRES

Discover the art scene of San Telmo and La Boca on an afternoon biking tour

Head off the beaten track on a unique biking tour that takes you pedaling through the hidden southern neighborhoods of Buenos Aires to find the city’s most impressive street art. Far more than urban art, this tour also examines the cutting-edge design district, vibrant neighborhoods and contextualizing it all with historical and cultural background. Riding through La Boca will get you familiar with different graffiti styles, and witness examples of elaborate urban art along the way by artist collectives such as Red Sudakas and Triangulo Dorado. Back on our bikes, we venture towards Barracas, where we can marvel at the elaborate mosaic walls in Pasaje Lanin, and later let our eyes wander along the mural depicting the meeting of Styles Street Art Convention representing several collaborations between artists. Admire works by other artists, including Pol Corona, Mart, Pum, Martin Ron, and many more.
